​When playing, children have an innate curiosity that when fostered, can turn to a life-long love of learning. Through play, children learn problem solving and critical thinking-- ”How do I make this puzzle piece fit?” “What happens when I do this?” Scaffolding can really help children learn. Supports such as hand over hand, modeling, verbal prompts, turn taking and imitation can really help a child learn new skills when you are playing with them.

​Children become self-motivated through play and learn determination with encouragement of loved ones to keep going. You can do it! And finally, when they accomplish, celebrate by saying “You did it!”
